Thank you to these cool girls for donating fantastic picture books about other cool (fictional) girls. Come to the library to check out Spring Fever and/or Rosie Revere, Engineer!

Thanks to the donations of these fine fellows our sports section has grown quite a bit! We all appreciate birthday books, but if you're a football or hockey fan like these brothers, you are really in luck. Even if you're not into these sports, you might want to try Hockey Hero or The Highest Number in the World just for the great stories. Make sure to look for all of these new titles in the library!
Thanks to these two very thoughtful second grade girls, our library has just added almost 50 books to the collection! This second grade class loves books, so the students were more than happy when they found out the requested gifts at these summer birthday parties would be book donations for the library. Thanks to all who contributed! You'll recognize the donated books because each is sporting a special bookplate in honor of the birthday girl who received it.
Thank you so much to these fabulous first graders for their birthday book donations! I couldn't be more excited about the two new Oliver Jeffers books, plus a historical fiction story of the California Gold Rush, and who doesn't love Fancy Nancy? The first grade class had been very generous with birthday books this year and I am very grateful to them and to Mrs. Anderson for their support of the library.
Some generous students with winter and spring birthdays have kindly donated wonderful books to the library recently. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
The New Year is off to a great start in the library, thanks to some generous donations from students! We truly appreciate all of the birthday books we have received and want to say thank you to all of you who have given a book or books this year or last.
We are looking forward to the arrival of many more new books which were recently purchased with funds from the Barnes & Noble Bookfair. Thank you again to those of you who volunteered, performed, read, or shopped at our fair in November. It was a fun evening with a huge payoff for our students! Speaking of bookfairs, our Scholastic Bookfair, held here at NDA, is just a few weeks away. The opening night will be on Saturday, January 24th, during Blizzard Bingo. The fair will also be open after the 10:30 Mass on Sunday and during school hours on the 26th and 27th. If you are interested in helping out with set-up, sales, or take-down, please let me know. I'm looking forward to another fun and successful event! Thank you to Anna, Peter, and Krzys´for our latest additions to the PK-5 library! We now have two more holiday books (Trixie the Halloween Fairy and The Great Thanksgiving Escape) and a book about Saint Faustina Kowalska of Poland in our collection.
A few weeks ago, we got a wonderful gift from first grader Brynn and her classmates: a cartload of books. For Brynn's birthday celebration, she invited all of the first graders to donate a book to the NDA library and they really came through, as you can see in the picture. Thank you first graders for making our library even better! In other news, tonight is the night for our Barnes & Noble Bookfair at the Edina Galleria! We are looking forward to hearing stories from our our student and teacher readers and to hearing some wonderful songs from the NDA Jazz Ensemble. Don't forget to check out the library and teacher wishlist section if you'd like to make a gift of a book to the school. I look forward to seeing many of you there in just a few hours! Thank you to Sammie and Quincy for giving us a gift on their birthdays! Sammie donated the crowd pleasing book, Dinosaurs Love Underpants, and Quincy donated a Jake Parker-illustrated book titled The Tooth Fairy Wars. We are sure that these books will be checked out often and enjoyed by many NDA students. Watch the blog for new birthday book arrivals in the future. |
